Energy Efficient School Construction Act

Update: The Energy Efficient School Construction Act has become a law in Illinois! Check out our press release on the bill's success »

Help make Illinois schools more healthy and efficient by supporting the Energy Efficient School Construction Act.

Current funding mechanisms do not encourage building schools that promote long-term energy savings, even though energy costs are an enormous expense for our state's schools and research shows that healthy, high-performance schools support better education.

The Energy Efficient School Construction Act will encourage healthy, efficient building choices for schools, leading to benefits that include higher test scores, increased average daily attendance, reduced operation and maintenance costs, lower utility bills, increased teacher satisfaction and retention, reduced liability, and less negative environmental impact.
