AUTHOR

Stephen P. Ashkin

Stephen Ashkin is president and founder of The Ashkin Group, LLC a consulting firm whose mission is to reduce the health and environmental impacts associated with cleaning and the Executive Director of the Green Cleaning Network, a non-profit educational organiziaton deadicated to accelerating the adoption of green cleaning practices in the marketplace. He has been in the cleaning industry since 1981, where he has held key management positions in leading commercial and household products companies, and has been working on the issue of Green Cleaning since 1990. Known as the "Father of Green Cleaning", Mr. Ashkin is a prolific author and speaker on the subject and his impressive list of accomplishments, awards and recognitions include being an Excellence Award Winner from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for his work protecting children from environmental risks and the Green Building Advocate of the Year from the Leonardo Academy for introducing Green Cleaning to the US Green Building Council’s LEED for Existing Buildings Rating System. Stephen also serves as technical advisor to the Healthy Schools Campaign and has introduced Green Cleaning to numerous school districts across the country.

Rochelle Davis

Rochelle Davis is the founding Executive Director of the Healthy Schools Campaign (HSC), which advocates for policies and model programs that allow students and staff members to learn and work in healthy school environments. HSC acts as a resource to school districts, professional associations, parent organizations and other groups and individuals who share a commitment to a clean environment, healthy children and better education. She is co-author of Fresh Choices, a cookbook which explores the relationship between food, the environment and children’s health (Rodale, 2004). Lead Content Developer

Claris Olson

Claris Olson is the Environmental Health Manager at the Healthy Schools Campaign and the Lead Content Developer on the Green Clean Schools Initiative. Her background includes 15 years with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 9 (EPA R9). She is an experienced public speaker and has worked with school and community stakeholders on environmental issues.
