Senators Push for Change in School Food

Thanks to Senator Richard Durbin and Senator Tom Harkin for taking the lead in bringing to the attention of President Obama and new U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack the need to increase funding for and streamline the administration of federal school food programs. (Click here to learn more.)

The economic downturn has increased the number of students enrolling in these programs. Now more than ever, it is critical that the federal government respond to ensure that schools have adequate funding to provide healthy meals to all school children who qualify for this program.
