Going Green, “Going Enviral” with Enviro-Solutions

We’re always excited to hear about leadership opportunities in eco-education and sustainability for youth. That’s why we are happy to share Enviro-Solutions’ “Going Enviral” contest.

Enviro-Solutions vice president and general manager Mike Samchuk notes that the contest evolved from a passion for healthy school environments. “It’s important to create the awareness, to create the passion and give students a vehicle to learn moving forward,” he said.

Going Enviral [pdf] challenges youth to create videos describing how they can make their schools greener and more sustainable for a chance to win $500 and $500 worth of Enviro-Solutions green cleaning products for their school. Submissions are due June 1, 2012. The contest is open to 7-12 grade students in the U.S.

Facebook visitors will assist Enviro-Solutions in selecting a winner. Voting for the winning video will begin on June 2 with the winner will be announced on July 15, 2012.

“Using social media technology can make it fun, make it easy for them,” said Samchuk. “It’s going to create a stronger momentum.”

Enviro-Solutions recognizes youth as the sustainability leaders of tomorrow.

“They are the future, and they can do something today,” said Samchuk. “Going green is not a destination, it’s a journey so if we motivate them to take the first step in that journey they’ll have a huge impact on the planet moving forward.”

Since 1994, Enviro-Solutions has provided green cleaning products and practical advice to schools and others looking to go green. Enviro-Solutions is also a proud Affiliate-level sponsor of HSC’s Quick & Easy Guide to Green Cleaning in Schools
