Congratulations to East Meadow Union Free School District!

In the Green Cleaning Awards
sponsored by HSC, the Green Cleaning Network and American School & University magazine, it received the School District Honorable Mention.

In 2008, the East Meadow School District — with the director of facilities and operations and a cleaning committee — expanded its green cleaning program and found new ways to go green. Green-certified products replaced ammonia- and bleach-based cleaners, diamond pads shine the floors and eliminate the need for floor strippers and wax, and microfiber mops keep floors cleaner than regular dust mops. New recycling and paper-dispensing methods use less waste and are saving money, too.
