Nominate a Teen Advocate for Health and Wellness!
July 05, 2012 | Written By: Healthy Schools Campaign
We’re excited to launch our Teen Advocate Spotlight series! This summer, we’ll feature teens from across the country promoting health, wellness and sustainability. Often, youth are left out of the dialogue that affects them most — the conversation about healthy school environments, healthy school food, and physical activity. We believe it is important for youth to have a platform to affect change in their communities, schools, and at home. At HSC, we host the Cooking up Change healthy cooking contest to engage students in transforming school food. We know that remarkable teens across the country are making a difference in their own communities. This summer we will showcase these teens speaking up for change.
In this series, we’ll share stories of youth leaders who are actively shaping health and wellness for their families, communities, and schools. Additionally, we will share how their leadership has inspired others to develop healthy habits.
Do you know a remarkable teen advocate who is speaking up for health and wellness or the environment? Let us know! To nominate an advocate, simply send an email briefly describing their story and how we can contact them to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also share your nomination on HSC’s Facebook page or on Twitter. Stay posted for profiles this summer!
