Last week the U.S. House of Representatives passed by a wide margin the “Leave No Child Inside”  legislation. The legislation addresses two of HSC’s areas of interests: a healthy environment and obesity-prevention programs.

This legislation helps schools enhance and expand environmental education with a strong emphasis on making outdoor environmental education activities part of the curriculum.  Educating students about the environment will help ensure that they will become stewards of the environment. The emphasis on outdoor education is an additional strategy for making sure that students have the opportunity for physical activity during the school day.  Click here to learn more about the legislation.
