Spaghetti Tacos Make the Scene on T.V. & on the Dinner Table

The New York Times reports that one of the newest kid-friendly foods around is… drum roll… spaghetti tacos.
Spaghetti tacos?
The recipe comes from the Nickelodeon television show iCarly, where the main character's older brother cooks up spaghetti tacos for dinner. Soon real kids began to clamor for them.
We couldn't exactly call this the world's healthiest recipe but it's creative and, like nearly any recipe, can be modified to feature a dazzling range of veggies. Parents have added peppers, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and a variety of other toppings.
Quoted in the article, parent Cammie Ward Moise says:
“It’s a great thing to make, especially when you’re having the food battles at home. It’s a fun way to get them excited about eating.”
Her children, Taylor, 11, and Myles, 9, love the dish, she said. “It’s something their idol is doing,” she said. “They love ‘iCarly’ and would probably eat anything the cast of the show ate.”
“Now,” Ms. Moise said, “we just have to get her to put broccoli in a taco.”
Has this trend reached your house? Any ideas for veggie-ful spaghetti tacos?
