Take Action on School Siting

February 04, 2009

By Mark Bishop, Deputy Director

As the Senate debates the economic stimulus bill, we have an opportunity to make real change in the way schools are constructed and maintained. The current House bill requires that at least 25 percent of the money allocated for schools go toward sustainable construction.

However, the bill doesn’t address the needs of siting. Check out our recent blog entry to learn more about this issue and why it’s so critical.

Our partner, The Center for Health, Environment and Justice (CHEJ), has launched a campaign to raise awareness of this issue. You can learn more and take action at the CHEJ website.
