Health in Mind: Improving Education through Wellness

March 29, 2012 · 12:00-1:00 PM central · Webinar

Research documents what parents and educators know: healthy students are better prepared to learn. How can we put this simple fact into action to boost achievement in our nation’s schools? This webinar will provide an overview of Health in Mind: Improving Education through Wellness, a new initiative from Healthy Schools Campaign and the Trust for America’s Health. Health in Mind encompasses specific, practical policy recommendations the nation can implement to make immediate improvements without significant expense. Speakers, including Dr. Charles Basch from Columbia Teachers College, will highlight the important role schools can play in disease prevention and health promotion and will discuss the connection between health and learning.
