Chicago Educator Webinar Series
May 25, 2021
Spending time outdoors has been shown to have a positive effect on mental and physical health as well as learning. And teaching outdoors — even if your school does not have a dedicated outdoor classroom — is a great way to leverage those benefits. Spring provides many opportunities for outdoor learning, which is especially important as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the hybrid learning model can make it difficult to teach outdoors, as many of your students may not be in the same place.
This webinar will help educators:
- Become familiar with school-based strategies that connect nature and garden-based learning with educational and health benefits.
- Learn tips and best practices for utilizing the outdoors in education — while still practicing social distancing and accommodating remote learners.
- Use resources for your entire classroom, like Grow Kits provided at no cost by Chicago Grows Food.
One CPDU will be provided for viewing the webinar. (IEIN required)
