Chicago Principals have played a key role in improving student health and boosting student achievement over the past decade!

Over the past decade, Parents United has brought recess back to Chicago Public Schools (CPS), championed Breakfast in the Classroom, advocated for healthier school food, pioneered the formation of more than 60 wellness teams and collected signatures in support of daily physical education.

This important progress for student health and wellness wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership and support of CPS principals. Every year, we honor those principals at dynamic event. We invite you to join us for our 10th Annual Principals’ Breakfast.

School leaders and parents will shine a spotlight on the work of Chicago schools to meet high standards for school food, nutrition education and physical activity. Despite common barriers, schools are making changes to meet the CPS School Wellness Policy and Healthy Snack and Beverage Policy, as well as working to implement daily PE.

Learn how you can tap into the network of parents, families and community leaders who are standing up for student health and calling for schools around the city to make wellness a priority.

At this Principals’ Breakfast, you will:

  • Hear from innovative principals who make healthy food and physical activity an integral part of the school experience
  • Enjoy breakfast and network with parents and community members who care about student wellness
  • Learn about CPS’ health-promoting wellness policies and the movement to create healthier school environments.
  • Honor schools that excel in creating healthy school environments
