Fit to Learn is a free professional development program offered by Healthy Schools Campaign for K-5 teachers to help integrate nutrition and fitness into everyday classroom subjects, while meeting state educational standards.
The goal of Fit to Learn is to make healthy habits a routine part of how kids learn. We offer resources to help your school meet its physical activity goals, help students learn about good nutrition through fun and creative activities, increase staff knowledge on personal health and wellness, and more!
Teachers who participate in Fit to Learn will be engaged throughout the entire school year. Each month, from September to April, we offer after school booster sessions to share best practices and to help teachers implement Fit to Learn lessons into their classrooms. Booster sessions range from incorporating yoga in the classroom to learning how to start or enhance a school garden.
As part of Fit to Learn, teachers receive support from Healthy Schools Campaign, access to free or low-cost program providers, tools to improve school wellness, workshops for parents and more!
Teachers will receive five CPDU credits for attending the summer session; additional CPDU credits are available throughout the year.
