We’re excited to bring you the second of two important webinars focused on School Nurses.
Join us Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. (Central) to celebrate the kick-off of this year’s School Nurse Leadership Award. This webinar will feature two award-winning school nurses from last year’s program and kick off our 2016 School Nurse Leadership Award.
- Carla Smith, a school nurse in Fremont, New Hampshire, is a true school leader. She recognized a need and developed an EpiPen training program for her teachers. Additionally, she created a Halloween buy back program at her school, donating more than 500 pounds of candy this past October.
- Sandra Lawinger is another school nurse leader who has worked hard to implement a staff wellness program at her school in Glen Ellyn, IL. She has also focused her efforts in addressing school food and food allergies.
Both of these leaders demonstrate the power of school nurses and the importance of using creative ways to address school and student health. We’re excited to feature these two leaders and for them to share their strategies for tackling this very important topic.
Do you know a school nurse that is a true school health leader? The 2016 School Nurse Leadership Award season kicks off Feb. 9, 2016, at which time applications will be available. Don’t miss out! Winners will be recognized on our website, will be featured in blogs and webinars and will win a $500 gift certificate to School Health.
