The Future of School Food
A dialogue with national leaders about what’s next + a first look at the Cooking up Change Showcase
The Child Nutrition Act, the law that governs school food for millions of students, will soon come up for reauthorization. As this important debate heats up, HSC brought together leaders to highlight what’s next for school food and what is at stake in the coming year as the focus in Congress turns to the school meal program.
This Change for Good event featured student chefs who participated in the Cooking up Change Showcase. Guests saw student-designed recipes from across the country and hear student priorities for school food.
Change for Good 2021 is HSC’s series of virtual forums that highlight national policies that center health and equity in education policy. The first forum, which focused on ensuring equity in COVID-19 Health and Education Policy, featured Dr. Choucair, White House Vaccination Coordinator. The second forum, which focused on investing in school infrastructure, featured U.S. Senator Dick Durbin. To learn more and watch past forums, visit the HSC website.
