Together, principals and parents are making Chicago schools healthier places.

Parents United led the effort to bring recess back to Chicago Public Schools (CPS), championed Breakfast in the Classroom, advocated for healthier school food, pioneered the formation of more than 60 wellness teams and collected signatures in support of daily PE.

This important progress wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership and support of CPS principals. Every year, we honor those principals at this dynamic event. School leaders and parents will shine a spotlight on the work of Chicago schools to meet high standards for school food, nutrition education and physical activity, as articulated in the district’s wellness policy. The wellness policy is an important tool to achieving equity in health and education for the district’s 380,000 students.

This event is by invitation only, please contact us if you have any questions.
