Why This Survey Matters
This Illinois School Health Services Survey will be used to assess the current landscape of school health services across Illinois and identify current challenges and opportunities with providing critical health services to students. Completing this survey will provide valuable information regarding how school health services are currently being delivered and funded in Illinois. The results of this survey will inform recommendations to the state supporting policies and programs to expand access to and provide resources for school health services in schools. Your district’s participation will help ensure the individual needs of your district are included and addressed in these recommendations.
How this Survey Works
The survey is broken into two parts:
Part 1: Qualitative Analysis
Part 1 of the survey will collect information on the types of school health services being provided throughout your school district, service needs and challenges, school health staffing levels and needs, Medicaid billing capacity, and other questions to help assess the current landscape of school health services in Illinois and what challenges and opportunities exist. This portion of the survey will be completed via SurveyMonkey.
Part 2: Quantitative Analysis
Part 2 of the survey will focus on data collection related to the volume of different health services being provided, number of students served, Medicaid reimbursement levels, and school health staffing levels. This portion of the survey will be completed in an Excel document and submitted via email.
Please complete both Parts 1 and 2 of the survey by Friday, Feb. 14, 2020.
Healthy Schools Campaign hosted a webinar to review the survey in greater detail and discussed the importance of school health services and new opportunities for Illinois. This webinar is intended for district superintendents, school principals and administrators, school health staff, Medicaid billing coordinators, and/or any other school personnel involved in the provision of school health services. Watch the recording of the webinar or download the presentation for more information.
