About Juliana
Hometown: Havre de Grace, MD
Education: BA, Environmental Studies, Salisbury University / MSPH, Health Education, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
Hobbies: I love camping and spending time outdoors. My favorite weekend getaway would be a roadtrip to explore a new state park with my two kids and our rescue pup, Ruthie! When the weather keeps us from getting outside, I work on creative projects around the house. Lately I’ve been having lots of fun refurbishing old furniture and thrift store finds!
Who are you?
I’m HSC’s Development Writer. I have the pleasure of supporting HSC’s grant portfolio with proposal and report writing, as well as prospecting new funding opportunities.
What makes your job great?
I love my job at HSC because it lets me support work that aligns with my passions and values. My academic background is in public health – specifically environmental health – and I’ve always chosen jobs that allow me to use those skills with a social justice lens. But HSC adds the extra component that was always missing for me: supporting healthy schools and kids. Knowing that my work contributes to such a meaningful cause makes working at HSC a total joy!
When did you come to HSC?
June 2023
Why did you join HSC?
I knew that working at HSC was my dream job from the moment I read the mission statement. I joined the team because I love being able to apply myself to a mission that means the world to me!
Where does your motivation come from?
I feel so grateful for the opportunity to support an organization I truly believe in. Being able to leverage my 9+ years of grant writing experience to support HSC’s mission is an honor, and I’m so grateful to be part of the team!
